Geshe Tashi Tsering

Geshe Tashi Tsering Geshe Tashi Tsering is a Tibetan Lama who holds the Lharampa Geshe degree (the equivalent of a PhD) from Seramay Monastic University in South India, gaining the highest marks possible at every level of the sixteen year course.

Since 1994 Geshe Tashi has been based at Jamyang Buddhist Centre in London, where he is renowned for his warmth, humour and ability to make the most profound Tibetan Buddhist philosophical teachings accessible to students.

Geshe Tashi first taught the Foundation of Buddhist Thought in 1997 at Jamyang. He has also taught the course to students elswhere in the UK and Europe. Since 2001 recordings of those teachings and the course books have been made available to students participating by correspondence and over the internet under the guidance of tutors. Two of the course books, The Four Noble Truths and Buddhist Psychology, have now been published by Wisdom Publications. Visit www.wisdompubs.org.

The tutors for the Foundation of Buddhist Thought are all graduates of the course and many are regular teachers at Jamyang London. They have been chosen by Geshe Tashi for their knowledge and ability to communicate with students. While not 'teachers' of the course, their job is to make the course as interesting and accessible to you as possible. See Students & Tutors.
